The Car or The Driver...

In any Motorsport this question is always hovering thru every enthusiasts mind. Arguably, I think one can not succeed without the other. Success in any form of motorsport I feel is a combination of both a efficiently tuned Car and a properly trained Driver. A Race Car must be properly prepped and tuned to perfection to compliment the skill and driving style of its driver. Man and Machine should be in unison. One should know one another. 


How to Efficiently tune a car you may ask? I believe its not the amount of horsepower or torque that is important, what matters is that it is tuned to whatever motorsport you are involved in and what sort of tuning is needed to optimize your Car's capability. 

How to become a skillful Motorsport  Driver? For me, the best way is to involve or immerse yourself into every motorsport discipline there is. For example, in circuit racing you gain proper skills on how to take turns in a fast and efficient way, in Drag Racing you are trained in the best possible shifting technique to minimize shift lags, in autocross and slalom precision and evasiveness are developed and so on...

On that note, we would like to invite you our valued readers to the 4th Round Manila Leg of the Philippine Autocross Championship Series on Sunday September 4 at Filinvest, Alabang.
